Yep great surfboard light strong good shape, 3 or 4 fin option, would kite well.
FST construction stronger than a PU board but not indestructible I don't think H'Tag done in kite brd construction.
kite forum gear review under firewire some comments on kite use survival.
If you want it for both prone / kite go FST if kite only check kite specific FW boards.

Thanks for your answer!
Was looking for classic shortboard shape kiteboard with no no straps inserts and without front pad.. Firewire kiteboards (VANGUARD, VADER) are not for me...
It is not easy to find board like I want)) The only board l've found is north surf pro csc 2016, but price is really high for now..
That is why interested in Hashtag..

Hi I have been riding surfboards for a while .i just really like the way they turn compared to a kiteboard.has to do with rocker I think.ofcourse they don't go up wind as well but once u get use them no prob.first one I got was a fire wire michel bourez loved it until I noticed it weighed nearly as much as my sup.they just get cracks and take on water. Now all I do is put two layers of fibreglass clothe where I stand and I have no problems.just a thought but the hashtag seems a bit wide personally I think as your not paddling into the wave u don't need the planning surface.and narrow makes for quicker edge to edge.i ride 18.5/8 width boards .hopr that helps

Jimmijaz is right imo. It sounds a little wide. Id keep it below 19 inches wide. It'll bounce too much through a hard bottom turn. Its not like a surfboard as we put so much more pressure through our turns than without a kite.

Have you considered a custom? You'd have to glass it heavier but you will be happier.

Hi everybody!
Thans for your replys and comments! Yes, all correct..
Firstly I was using custom made Rusty Stealth Tail Quad 5’10″x18.87″x2.18″ - have put one lay of fibreglass where I stand.
Works great, but finally started to fall into parts ))
After was 2015 Slingshot Celeritas 5’8″ x 18 1/2″ x 2 1/4" 26 ltr - too small.. Moved to 2015 Slingshot Celeritas 5’11″ x 20 1/2″ x 2 1/2" 32 ltr - too big..
I think, best otion for me is 2016 North Pro Surf Kiteboard 5’11’’ x 18 1/4’’ x 2 1/4’’, will wait for better price...
Of course Hashtag 5'11" x 19 3/8" x 2 9/16" - 29,5 L or 5' 10" x 19 1/4" x 2 1/2" - 28.3 L are wider, then my previous, but the price looks good )

FireWires are over-priced and over-rated. Supposed to be strong, but they break very easily. Beware.

Hey mate. I went through the same kind of search as you, I tried all the North boards but the newer designs had too much buoyancy for my weight (70kg) and they have mostly gone to thrusters whereas I prefer a quad setup. I ride strapless and jump and throw a few tricks, and was looking for a board that was strong, light and could handle the pummelling from the heels during landings and jumps. I have used firewires before but don't think they have the strength for jumping all the time, although I hear they are getting into kiting designs now.

I went with Smook as they are using some awesome concepts for board strength (see the other forums for details but you can see the carbon stringers running through the board, which are also focused on the feet landing areas). They worked out a lot cheaper than a North board without the compromises on design that you get from a production board.

I have just got the board and haven't had any wind yet, but if the forecast holds over here i'll be out on Tuesday and will post some feedback.

The guy that makes smook boards kites at my local and let's me ride them, boards feel solid and light, would defs check them out. I currently have a Vader and I'm happy with it construction wise, I'd give the FireWire a go but only if it's in the kite construction.
