Hi Guys,

Today is going to be the final course race of the year at Pinnaroo Point. We will be starting at 5.30pm for briefing and racing from 5.45pm.

4 man heats, smaller course and two laps to produce some more competitive racing. Several starts provided we have the numbers,

For a change we'll be racing in moderate conditions by the looks of it so bring big kites!

By the looks of it, I'll be free'd up from the beach at Pinnaroo after today (all things going to plan) so I plan on running a race on the river in the new year, and probably one at Leighton.

All those in favour say "aye". I'd also like to organise a big race day on a weekend, but will see how time and resources permit.

Cheers to all and I hope to see you this afternoon for our final race of 2009.

Hi Guys,

Todays racing was definately the best yet. We raced a figure 8 course with a shorter upwind leg and lots of close reaching. Sick! 7 racers turned up to test their skills in lighter winds 15-19 knots.

Heaps more fun when you're not about to die on every downwind run. Each time we race we get better and better at running this sort of event so I look forward to bringing the racing to the river in the new year.

If you're interested in racing, keep an eye on the forum as we will announce dates when we start up again.

Sensational, full speed, powered racing and now some crew are getting big kites and race boards, no doubt the racing will get more and more full on. Come and join in the fun!

See you's in the new year and thanks for all the support thus far, it's been quite the learning curve LOL.

Cheers,

KH

I will be working very close to pelican point through the summer so I am very keen for a river meet up, and I will still be heading up to pinaroo whenever possible as well, so I suppose that is 2 aye's from me!

Hi Dazz,

would love to have made it today but juggling the squids got to much.

I know Rocko is along way, as Pinaroo is from this end of the Earth. But shoalwater would be a seriously good spot to race, maybe one weekend some committed crew will make the journey down. There would be a healthy show of locals I reckon, maybe something to think about once your manager is up and running with his license. A one off, well planned annual thing. Happy to help and I'm sure Jason from west oz will get behind it with support.

Bummer - just back from overseas & was hoping it might be on today :-(

When is the next race Darren?

I finally got my car back so I can actually get my kite gear down the beach again :-)

Stolen jetski still no show :-( Can't afford a new one right now so I'm still out of action teaching :-(

Jetski insurance for commercial purposes is not cost-effective :-(
Normal tools of trade business insurance would not take it on a specified item without doubling the premium :-(
In other words I have no insurance for the jetski

Hi Ian,

Good stuff you got your car back, bummer you lost your jetski.

Racing will resume on the 13th January 2010. The good news is that Ed has his truck license now, so I am free to setup the race at any location I see fit

Maybe a race on the river next

Keep an eye on this forum for updates.

Cheers mate, Hope to catchya at your BBQ.

Cheers,

KH

Hell yeah, a racing roadshow. I'd be keen but can't make it up that far on a work day. Hopefully you get a chance to come down to woodies or safety bay one day...

notice how today (wednesday) was an absolute howler again, I never though I would see the day that the organization of a wind driven event is jinxed to always having copious amount of wind. Murphy's Law had dropped the ball on this one thankfully

Hi Ian,

Sorry mate, gonna do it next week and it will be on the river. Maybe some input from others to decide the better day. I don't want to clash with the windsurfing crew who also race on the river Wednesdays.

Was thinkin maybe Thursday? Input anyone?

Cheers,

KH

Thursday 21/1 sounds as good as any day to me Darren. The river needs some sort of a spectacle again............not always kites flying in to trees, that gets old.

Please let me know what I can do on the day to help out Darren. The course will be a piss to set up............knee deep water for yonks.

Sorry to read about the accident, but they do happen to everyone...........for those with hubris, just remember that over confidence is the smell of doom.
