How good was that
Full props to Lance for everything - site selection, format, organisation and WIND.
An unbelievably awesome event - well done.
And competitors - you guys rock. So good to watch. A bit less wind may have seen more moves nailed and few more tried but the power & speed made it interesting for all.
Thanks especially to all the interstate & OS entrants - BIG plus having you guys here. Gave the day a real international flavour.

An thanks to the 99.9% of our great WA poleys who allowed us our one day of glory at this magic spot.

World class!

Two favorites were tandem mega loops by Damo and other rider and Spaceman's mega loop with grab (think it was a hoochie).

It rocked....hope all finished safely and the after party was a gas.

EXCELLENT COMP!!! My hat goes off to Lance and the crew for putting together such a great event. I don't think anyone can have anything to complain about, the wind was wicked for spectators, absolutely massive loops and board-off's are always incredible to watch.

We all owe Lance many beers and props for putting in the effort to make it happen. Just remember Lance, the first one is the hardest, every one after gets easier and easier.

Can't wait for next year.

P.S.
Its is unfortunate that some wind surfers have such a negative, immature attitude. We are all there for the same thing and nobody is better than anybody else.

yeah i want to say a big thanks to lance aswell.. it was a epic day and every1 met new people etc.. excellent kiting in some pretty heavy wind and it was great kiting with riders that are at sucha high level!

i agree about the windsurfers though, they were the only problem today, continually riding straight through the flat water section cutting all the kiters off... its a shame to see such negative attitudes for no reason.

Where do we get our hands on some of the footage?

A great gathering of the tribe.
The windgods smiled upon KITEJAM.
Inaugural events are often blessed by the gods.
That's because the stoke is fresh and the karma is potent.
There is no record of past achievement.....
There are no high expectations to surpass.
The unknown is exciting.

My wife and I really enjoyed watching dudes bustin' huge ballsy moves.
We took ghoulish delight in the carnage and we were flabbergasted by the actions from stupid territorial poleys,
who kooked-out as they sailed thru the kiteloop zone.
lol.

Dare i ask what the poleys actually did?
I know when i was down at the pond on a ~20-25 knot day a few weeks back the poleys weren't aggressive, just charging back and forwards doing their thing. I'm used to far more aggro than was shown there, so assumed it was just hype.

I won't elaborate.
Just want to point out that the poleys were pretty cool in general, but there was a minority that had to charge through the comp area and cause a couple of problems.
It seemed like they sort of crept in when it was a little quiet on the water as the day wore on. Thanks to the guys that respected that there was a comp going on, but there was a couple of dicks that came close to causing what could have been serious accidents

Koma,
With regards to poleys,,,,,
Where did I say aggro ???
I said stupidity.

Sailing thru the zone with no regard for timing is dumb.
If I was a poley who wanted to sail hard up close on the pond, in the zone, during a kick-arse kitecomp, held in nukewind......
I would try to time it so kiters were not going to be in my pond-space during my kook run.
Simple as that.

Greenfinger, those shots say it all!

there were 2 windsurfers who did their best to create a nuisance for us,

Good job no one got hurt. Their were heaps of windsurfers further downwind, causing no troubles at all, everyone sharing the water and havin a good time, thats how it should be.

Hi all,

What a weekend! What a Jam!

I want to use this opportunity to put out my deepest thanks to all the following people who made this event possible.

The sponsors: These guys shared the vision and belief in the event to make it happen…

A huge thanks to Kitelements, for stepping up and supplying the event with custom T-shirts, mega prize packs and all their support, Big ups!

Little Creatures! Filling the eski with beers, and putting a perfect finish to the day with beers and prizes.

New Kiteboarding, great prize packs and all their support.

DVNT kiteboarding, for generous support and their great contributions.

Jason at West Oz Kiteboarding for bringing the hardware, and installing the slider (a scary sight at low tide 12m long and 2m high!) and an awesome kicker.

Adam and Red Bull for bringing the girls, the Red Bulls, the fly away marquee (we’re gonna need some bigger tent pegs next year!) and the comfiest bean bags ever!

Rockingham council- who were so supportive, and keen to see the event happen.

Andy Gordon for his T-shirts, and strange filming techniques, setting up a complex looking camera dolly that was pretty tempting as a slider! By now we know that he works in mysterious ways, and the process might not always make sense, but you know the final video is gonna be amazing!

A huge thanks to WAKSA and all the friends and members for giving their time and effort, Alex Bell, Phil Morrow, Pat Banks, Dave RC, Sue, Leon, Damo, Grant, Nick G,Andy G, Neil, Dan, Chrissy, Enid, Si Walker, Tim, Adam…

A huge team effort all round.

And most importantly, a big thanks to all our riders, who put on possibly the best kiteboarding show ever seen in WA in a cranking seabreeze.

We were stoked to have some of the worlds best riders in the Jam, and it was an awesome opportunity for our locals and groms to mix it up with PKRA pro riders.

Thanks to our invitational riders: Tom Court, Mike Blomvall, Victor Borsule and Susi Mai…

The Results:

I think i had predictive text input enabled on my brain.
See that GPS strapped to his arm in the photo posted... thats a pretty clear indication that he has a massive pole and that he's not compensating in the slightest.
