I am looking for a good family holiday (winter escape) location where I can sneak of for 1.5-2 hours a day for a sneaky kite. Any suggestions?
I prefer to kite flat water.
I'm not after a perfect kite surfing location that the family can merely tolerate.
Mate that is a very broad question but for what its worth if you mean international and you have the cash go the mauritius the wind has been non stop 24hr and you can kite the flat everywhere up the east coast. My sched the last two weeks has been have breakfast with the wife drive to the beach closest where she wants to go (snorkel, turtle/dolphin watch intro dive sup bushwalk etc) I meet her on the way back from doing her thing for debrief and cocktails and everybody is happy. 
Malolo Island Resort in Fiji. Awesome family vacation and you should get a few kites in.
In Mauritius they are about to have their freeride challenge and a few West Aussie's are heading over. Highly rated I'm told but not been there myself.
