The F-one EVO bar system appears to use a split front line with pulleys that connect to the bridle. Does any one know if a "regular" 4 line bar (e.g. a Royal bar with "Ironheart" quick release) can readily be modified for use with the F-one kites? Might it be sufficient to replace the "regular" separate front lines with a central split line and pulleys that connect to the bridle? Is the EVO "life-line" safety also different from most other systems?
Cheers.

The bandit and bandit Dos used the same bar settup and the the front lines are a fair bit shorter than the rear lines. the front lines attach to the pulley on a fairly long bridle. The kite flags off both of the front lines, i think if you try to flag off just one front line with where the attachment point is and how rigid the shape of the kite is it would just spiral. so i would definatly change the front lines should be easy enougth i have seen the iron hart used on the fone bar the safety line is part of the front line and comes thru the bar.

If you try to set your bar up to suit i would recomend laying it out next to the fone bar to get the line length and configaration correct. and definatly try the safety before you need it.

I wouldnt recomend that beginers try to modify gear as it does afect the safety and could put yourself and others at risk.

Hey Waxie, I heard rumors the new Bandit 3 has equal length lines, so more bars would be compatible?

I guess the rear leader on the Bandit 3 will just be a bit longer to compensate (though less offset than the DOS) due to smaller front bridles.

I guess if you wanted to use an equal length bar on a Dos or older, the simple solution would be to add rear line leaders to compensate for the reduced/ shorter rear lines. But as Waxie said, be careful here, extra knots etc just provides another place for a line to snag and get caught up.

Yes the bandit 3 has a all new bar settup with equal length lines. You will be able to fly it with almost any bar, but as far as the way the safety would work with the bandit 3 dont know yet. I think they mainly did it so you can buy 2 kites and just the one bar to save a few $$$$.
