Hey guys
I'm a pom over here for kitesurf based travelling. I'm currently in Melbourne... finding my feet and getting some kit together. I intend to buy a van and head up the East coast taking in any beaches that look like fun. I'm making some stops on the way to stay with friends (Sydney, Brisbane), but lookin for any chilled kiters that fancy joining me for any part of the adventure. I've got plenty of time so no worries there. I'm super-chilled and just up for good times at the beaches and the bars. If this sounds like something you might wanna do then hit me up and we'll see if we can make it happen.
Also if you're in the Melbourne area and lookin to sell a nobile 555 or 666 board or similar, or a decent waist harness (Mystic Warrior or similar) then get in contact.
Good winds ![]()

Hey Marve
Nice one - I'm sure I'll be passing through there at some point so I'll be in touch. Gonna check that website now. Thanks dude :)

unless the graphs stay like they are for the next week you've picked the wrong side of oz for wind .(going on the average for the last 2 years, well this part anyway)
but maybe your just the kick this side of the country needed
.You've arrived and the wind has improved ,plus there is a guy visiting from italy that wants to test a kite for light wind (thats what they usually have ),guess what too windy![]()
Hi guys,
I will arrive in Sydney on Jan 18th and I will rent a camper to go up to Cairnes and stop where ever it is got to kite.
What time are you going up the coast?
Cheers
Marcus
I did a tour from Cairns to Melbourne over 7 months last year. Best trip ever. If you think it's good in St Kilda, wait till you get to Inverloch, sandy point and then up the NSW south coast in places like Pambula, Merimbula, Gerroa etc. NSW north coast is amazing, and Queensland has twice as much coastline as NSW. Def stay some time on the sunny coast, Elliot heads, Bowen, Tannum Sands, Alva, Cungulla, Lucinda, and finish up in Yorkeys Knob or Fourmile beach in Port Douglas. I found the best way to check out spots was to use google earth, and then search Seabreeze for info on the location. You'll be able to find local kiters nearly everywhere if you look.
Hi mate,
we are based in Townsville, but do transfers from Cairns and Cooktown...
greetings from 30knts Elliot heads
stay windswept
LOL, the avatar came from an original pic taken by Robbo2099 at Cairns kiteweek in 2005. I was walking my kite up the beach with the leash attached to my 5th attachment point and connected to the back of my harness. Thought it would be fun to relocate myself in the air with photoshop and add lines.
While on the east coast tour, I made a few blog entries during the trip with info on some of the spots - you might want to check out these links when planning the trip....http://web.mac.com/boxburg/site/Bens_Blog/Entries/2008/4/28_The_one_mile_club.html
