If you kite in either Port Phillip Bay or Western Bay then can you please check out the boating review thread on the KBV / Victoria page. We need to know of all places in the bay that people kite so we can ensure that we get enough exemption zones from the current 5 knot speed law.

We have a good relationship with the authorites and we want to ensure that we have enough quality places to kite in the future. They are receptive to creating these zones but they need to be discussed with all water users to ensure that they will be going ahead.

Cheers

Hi Matt,
There is a small crew that kite out from the car park on Williams grove, Bonbeach. We kite from the car park down to the Chelsea Pier and back. At the moment from the carpark up to Patterson River is a no boating area , it would be great if they revised some of this as it is a great beach to kite from.

The following spots we also kite out of: Carrum Bowling Club, Anywere along Seaford Beach, end of Wells rd Frankston and the Mt Martha Lifesaving Club carpark. If you need any help or need someone to represent the Bonbeach area send me an email, we are keen to keep these area's open and safe for all beach users.

Cheers and good wind

Andrew

Surely there are more kiting beach's around the bay that get used consistantly, or is it just that no one wants to kite anymore. We all haveto put our hands up if the sport is to progress. Come on people.
