It got nothing to do with skills or even the kite.
His board got the redbull logo on it and it will give you wings.

Looks like an old photo. Maybe 2004? just looking at the gear. Nice kiteloop though - looks like short lines too. Desperately trying to spot landing...

Can't say I'd have the balls to commit to a kiteloop like that with a 0% depower kite...

So is it Lou or you?
I'm suprised there is only one hand on the bar and it is almost in the centre, doesn't look like it is being cranked hard enough to get the kite back above for the landing.

How can you tell its a kiteloop?

they think it is just because hes parallel with his kite...

i say no because he hit a wave kicker and either hucking off a flat 3 or something along them lines.

Looking again you're right. Lines look crossed at first but are not at close inspection. Main give away is that his hand is in the middle of the bar. Also looks like he's about to reach around for a pass.

may I suggest they could be as short as 10m lines ( or even shorter )

Yep not a loop and he is going for a pass IMO.
Have a look at both the lines from the bottom wingtip they both look like they are going to the end of the bar ie no trim or depower options?
I wasn't into kiting when kites went from 2 to 4 lines did the early 4 liners have any depower?
I would have thought they would at least have front lines going to the centre of the bar with some kind of trim adjust?
Or are my eyes playing tricks on me.

i recon its photo shoped cause the chicken loop is being pulled the oposite way to the kites pull and the face down the bottom left looks really small but he is pretty close.

and his balls are 2 big

Yea it looks like a pass, but look at the side of the bar he is passing too, he is going to be pulling that already low kite into the water, so maybe he already passed and is finishning a rotation.

Looks like the monkey but but not a certainty.
Im with echo on the pass - hes done it - imo.
I think it probably was a loop - a bit questionable but I'd say his original hold would have been double handed at the end of the bar to initiate and run the loop; the centre grip is the passed grab position to steady the kite to complete the move nice and controlled.

If thats the right score then he's set for sweet landing - plenty of green left in it (long as his kite comes back up a bit or it could hurt ).

the kicker idea ?? he is too high & kite is too low

my 2c worth
(but how would I know I'm a watcher not a doer )

on 2nd look - yep I reckon it is the monkey.
3rd look - ur right lines dont look crossed who knows what he is doing

Ive been waiting for the saftey police to say he shouldnt be pulling something like this with other kiters close by downwind.

as I slowly opens a big can of worms.[}:)]

He's gotta be going the opposite direction to the other 4 kiters. That puts his kite just going into the loop - as in still going down not yet at the bottom. If this is right then he's probably also just started the pass. In which case the centre hold may be a problem getting the loop to continue thru, up & around.

sick of this - I give up

I reckon it is a photoshopped pic of a free-falling board-wearing parachuter (there is a special term for them but I forget what it is).
I reckon I can see a 'chute on his back!
Prob could do with one even if he hasnt jumped from a 'plane to try and recover from the crash others seem to think he is about to have!!!

----Second look- i'm talking out my ass- its just a stickyouty big waist harness, oh well!

Its a pulley bar, it doesn't have a chicken loop. Its also a Takoon Wook. He has 10m lines. He is using a jimi lewis buzz board (90cm) with no fins. He doesnt have a leash, or depower at the bar. It's the end of a kiteloop off a wave. he is travelling out to sea, his hand just looks like he is going to pass, he is not though.

So I was right it was Lou (Wainman) and not you, thought so, well I'm all discussted out.
Tell us more, any idea what move he just pulled or is about too pull, I keep changing my mind on loop or not, I'm still not sure he has looped it the hand in the centre of the bar just doesn't seem right. Normally the back of your hand is on the same side as the leading edge of your kite if you get what I mean, and that doesn't look to be the case. If the kite continues forward and back up the bar will only be 180 degrees to the kite not 360 (a full twist which it should be if it did loop).....but I just downed a bottle of red whilst seeing Paul Kelly at the Quarry Ampitheatre so what would I know.... I give up.

The mans a freak!!
