Anyone know where to get deck grip in a large enough amount to do a board...?
Not really looking for the pre cut tail pads and centre deck like creatures/shapers do.
More like a roll or big piece of deck grip like that cammo stuff that i can cut to size.
cheers queers

I just buy SUP deck grip off of eBay and cut it to shape. It was about $80 though, but I had enough to do two boards.

ebay stuff - 3m roll for $75 or so, advertised as having 3m adhesive. i've done a few boards and it's going strong after two years or so.

I have been getting mine of ebay from China, around $20 for 4-6 squares will cover most of a surfboard with bits left over, no quality issues so far, uses 3M adhesive. Colours are limited orange/black/blue or grey. Orange and black looks great. Will post a pic later.

I go to Clark Rubber and by the 5mm sheet that can be had in a range of colours and then using sand paper Glued to a thin strip of timber sand the grooves into the foam after its glued on the board. Mark out patterns in pencil and using a straight edge lightly sand the pattern in. Yes I'm cheap but money saved can go to my wife who tells me she can spend it better than me.

Clarke Rubber
wholesale SUP shop
Advection brand on Ebay is an aussie guys brand.
Kitepower has that WDFG(or something that sounds similar?) brand which is the best you can get at a pretty sweet price

I have been buying Hydroturf from Australian Jetski Supplies in Qld for many years. Top stuff if only for the bazillion colours and 10 or so cut patterns.... but not adhesive backed

As to eBay ones, I tried and one of them actually told me their backing was crap and others could only supply one colour, listing a different colour etc and could not tell me whether I get the pictured one or the described one, so never went ahead. Can anyone tell me a reputable one from China they've had good experiences with? (plural...)
I mean stuff on the roll OR pre-cut

Adam I checked out Advection and the price is good!

http://www.ajsp.com.au/hydroturf

Only thing I'd not buy is their kick tail, Clark Rubber have a wedge much cheaper.
The only thing at Clark Rubber that is not exorbitantly priced!!!

Cheers Mark. Any recommendations for which pattern? I prefer a harder wearing grip, like on a surf tail pad, the squares look good.

dunno about reasonable, you get 3 x that much for same price in Hydro Turf (albeit not stickyback) and the Advection place suggested above does a full board in stickyback for $60 not $95......

Squid grip- the guy lives in Perth and sells big sheets and it's good. All the tow guys got me into him when covering my ski, they all buy the sheets of him to cover all the sides of their skis - recommend it for sure!
