Anyone with small children will tell you that the birds starting at 4am, followed by sunrise at 4:15am is a cruel, cruel thing. 5:15 would be much more civilised. Blockout curtains can help with the light but can't stop the birds.
Plus - who doesn't love summer avo BBQ's, kiting, long evenings.
Tractorguy - well the username says it all really. But mate the vote was 30 years ago. Lot of smarter people have moved into the state since then! 
Nice one losty I was looking for that. FNQ would need it's own time zone anyway a lot of cairns residents struggle to set a clock.
DLS is the best thing about living in NSW is summer.
nothing better than finishing work at 5 and knowing you have a good 3 hours on the water after work...
