Plummet just posted (in another post) that he couldnt find what he was after locally to fix things all important to us kitesurfers - so ended up buying offshore - fair call !!
But this thread is about sharing experiences fixing (surf) boards and wondering what else others can share that the average punter doesn't know about!! - there are so many new materials out there that make DIY board repairs relatively easy and very cost effective.
There have been a lot of threads about epoxy resins so Ill let you search up that info.
My big eye opener was to stumble across a product called 'release cloth' - it is laid over the repair and allows me to shape the repair but once the resin has gone off it can be peeled off - awesome
Ive used gladwrap in the past because it doesn't stick to epoxy resin - but it does leave the finish very shiny :-)
So for the average DIY person - Seabreezers - what are the hot tips and funky materials (like release cloth) to look out for to make a board repair in a home garage possible?
Below is my Kipuna that has had to tolerate my jumping 'learning Phase'. - yes snapped twice but still going !! the second photo is my favourite Axis board that recently had a small tear - seems I haven't learnt not to BOOST !!! Fun!
