Could some extrordinairy kiter please explain the subtleties and differences between the 17m Core kites please.
That is the bloodlines since the first 17 came out up to the current model, which I think is Core Riot XR3.

XR LW 17
- Separate inflate & deflate bungs, no one way valves.
- Long bridle lines !
- Core ESP bar push away release, average size chicken loop also slightly longer bar length than Sensor.

XR2 LW 17
- Improved canopy design
- Improved canopy materials
- Better wind range.
- Better upwind
- Core Sensor bar standard, twist release, tiny chicken loop !
- Shorter bridle's than xr lw, not 100% sure?.
- 'Speed Valve' single inflation/deflation valve, makes pumping up a **** load quicker, trust me you want that 17meters is farkin HUUUGE.

XR3 LW 17
- Even shorter bridle lines
- Speed Valve 2 inflation system
- Even lighter canopy design and specialised materials
- Further enhancements in canopy design
- Seems to have the same wind range.

Not sure on much else as I don't have one, Only have the XR2 LW and I don't think it's worth the upgrade from the XR2 LW 17 as far as I am concerned, you can pick up the XR2 LW's for a decent price now.

Thanks for clarification except for this last sentence, ???? "don't think its worth upgrade from" what to what?

nah i just meant I have a XR2 LW 17m and don't think it would be worth going XR3 17LW when you can get a good deal on XR2 LW's now, new or used.

Lol, yeah that's true maybe if they changed there design pattern and maybe some other colours other than the exact same looking kites for sooo many yrs now, and they can't say its to keep there costs down when there really not that cheap against there competitors.

So, .... in the Seabreeze Buy and Sell, how come we see a lot of 2012 Core XR LW 17's, should they be properly described as XR2's?
Cannot follow the models as advertised.

ebiwen pretty much nailed it,

Some extras differences are
-over 3 generations and 5 years, the bar pressure has reduced significantly and turning speed has improved somewhat.
-there was a change in wind range from xr to xr2 with a less bottom but more top end (usable windrange)
-XR2 to XR3 ultra short bridles, no wraps on self launches.
-XR2-XR3 Coretex fabric triple ripstop, core kites have always been hard wearing but this is a step up.
-with current bar aero cleat can be moved to increase bar throw making the kite much more managable
