I have a new strapless kite board and didn't want to cover the bamboo with standard deck grip or have to continually wax so I bought some “Versa traction clear grip tape”.
I bought the short board pack ($53).
The larger pieces gave me enough to do the strapless board which left me the two small pieces which I added to my strapped board between the pads.
So far I'd say the grip is about as good as wax and better than the cheaper deck grip. Probably not as good as the top end deck grip and obviously doesn't give that few mm of cushioning that deck grip can offer. Overall I am very happy with it.
On my strapped board these small bits work perfectly to add grip to an area where you don't predominantly place your feet.
nice man, never felt it before but can you use a cool water wax over the top of the traction... be a better than a base coat of wax when the layer of cool water wax spreads...

The web site said you can put wax on top and like you I was going to use it as a base if not quite gripy enough but seems fine as is to me but then I only ride my strapless board in the lower wind range. If you were in Perth you could have tried my board first.
Nice looking board mate. Can see why you wanted to use the clear stuff.
I hope a review of the new board is coming aswell... Delta's board look awesome.
If you have absolutely nothing else to do then you could watch this vid of the deck grip in action, I kid you not. Na seriously I was just trying out a below the shoulder GoPro view but I was on the strapless Delta with the versa grip on it. - Warning flat water

You've got way too much time on your hands shouldn't you be working . Was gonna ask to borrow that mount untill I saw the milk crate .this week looking good.

Sugar coating always works pretty well too.. Just paint a bit of resin over the top then sprinkle some sugar over it and then when its set you pour water over it and the sugar dissolves out leaving the resin nice and grippy and is pretty well seethrough.
hey slack, in your review of the amp you mentioned you were trialing the metro is this what you have now as your strapless board? (looks very interesting)
The idea of no wax and clear grip is great, I have placed an order and should get it this week.
Here is an idea that may not work but:
If anyone has a go pro head strap, you will see a clear glue inside the strap in a wave pattern, it grips and stretch when wet.
Does any one know what this glue is? and I wonder if you could use this pattern and glue on a surf board?
