I have a Bandit dos quiver, love them, easily the best kites around. However the only problem is the quick release is the old-school velcro. If it all goes wrong, I don't think it would be very easy to find and pull the quick release whilst being dragged underwater with the kite deathlooping or being hammered by waves. I far prefer the flexifoil or north "red hat" or "ironheart" systems as they are much more intuitive.
Anyone succesfully changed the Quick release system on an f-one bar?
Dont be to worried about the quick release it is verry simple and you will find it if you need it, if you practise it is more about muscle memory than ease of use just get useto where it is and how it works have your hand on it while getting ready to launch etc train yourself until it is just a reflex action.
on the up side the chicken loop is so weak if you have a big stack the plastic will break anyway. broke one today just doing a transition they are ****. they were no good last year and the same this year.have broken a thew this season. but at least this years bar hasnt lost all of the grip.![]()
The Mr f (delta kite) from jn is a much better setup with a pushaway qr more safety options and onepump. plus has everything you like about the bandit well apart from the bar pressure.![]()
hope that f one gets there **** together next year with an upgraded bar the rest can stay the same.![]()
I had one break last year and 'm8 kites' were good and replaced pretty quickly through my fone distributer. touch wood it hasnt happened since........
I'm in the process of putting an 07' Ironheart on my bar and lines, I don't like plastic down there and the change over will be easy as. I'll post piccies when its done.
Ive used the velcro QR on the dos quite a few times and no problems. simple and it works, when you want it to, quickly![]()
