I'm going to be at Deception Bay this Sunday (14/06/09). Forecast suggests westerly. My chances to kite at this time of year are getting slimmer and slimmer, so would love it if i got a chance over the long weekend.

If anyone can suggest the best place to check or even give me a call, that would be greatly appreciated. Always prefer to kite with a local.

You got buckleys... If it goes NW then you might have a chance if you drive to Scarborough but it won't turn out... Never does this time of year...
Come to Cable with us on monday!!!

good old D-Bay, that place is vicious! if you like razor shells and a foot of mud its perfect!

I even explored the mangrove section down behind rothwell...good if your happy to walk through snake infested long grass, rig up in weird grass/fence/mangroves. water is glassy smooth though..its very....everglade-ish

Dbay was years ago for me, when i was learning as i loved the lack of other riders, just a mate and myself. The main issue was coming out of the water with slices all over your feet from the shells under the mud. Once your riding its great, flat, but pretty shallow.
