Am organising a trip next year to the carribean, if someone can shed some light on the best time of year would be awesome please?!

When I used to work on sailing boats we would arrive early December and leave April to take full advantage of the regular trade winds. November you could be ok but possibly still a bit flukey and inconisistant.
The Caribbean is a big area from Bahamas down to Venezuela, general rule of thumb, the further south you head the more consistant the trades.
I just got back from 2 months in Barbados and Grenada.
wind driven is right about the December - April/May trades. Outside this time it can be hit and miss, with some good days but no consistency. However, a hurricane or tropical storm could come through and all this changes.
November to April is the best season. I lived in the Caribean, Cozumel (Mexico) last year and usually November has the strongest winds (25+knots) but only a few days in the month. December through April is better as you have more than 15 knots up to 80% of the time. Go to the Dominican Republic (Cabarete) instead, much better than Panama.
Or go to Fuerteventura in Spain, they have wikkid winds round there.

Our season here starts when the trades kick in. Normally mid - late Nov. A good season will last till end of July/beg Aug. Average wind 15-20 knots.
I live in St Lucia, just set up a kite school in the north of the island. My friend runs www.caribbeankitesurfaris.com doing charters down to the grenadines.
St Lucias an awesome place to visit with only a few kiters here at the moment compared to the other busy island.

Ditto the above ... but B4 you travel across the globe, what are you looking for?
If flat water and Rum cocktails, oh and unbelievable black chicks are your thing .. then fine.
But better kiting in WA. Chicks not as good though. Did I mention the chicks??
