Hey Hows it going,

Are there any other kiteboarders from Canberra or the south coast that want to chat?

Mate I've just moved to sunny old Canberra and looking at doing a few coast trips. Not too sure of where to head up there though?

Are you looking for friendship or something more serious?

i met a guy down there with heaps of kiting stickers on his car - he must be a pro or something - look for a silver mitsubishi stationwagon. He's really friendly to all newcomers and will show you all the spots.

Lovey. That equates to a declaration of WAR! I'll have to cancel those stickers I ordered for U!

Instead of looking for me, just catch up with the bloke driving the white Toyota Hiace. He flies Rebels and rides a Shinn board. If u can put up with him constantly telling u how Rebels and Shinn Boards are the only things worth buying then u might find him tolerable.

Ulladulla??? WT*

Mossey Pt., Broulee, Tomakin beaches is the go. Watch out for those tiger sharks tho.

Moruya Nth Head is also good stuff but may be off limits because of the airport. Anyhow guys go there and there are no signs....

LBG and all the ACT lakes are full of toxic algae - you'll die before they tell ya to get out of the lake - dont go there.

If you wanna do a day trip from ACT & share costs, PM me.

flying a rebel is like owning a Mac - We quietly (and smugly) go about our business knowing that we have a vastly superior product.

Sandgroper, It's called a subtle diversion. I prefer not to mention all the local spots where I live on the forums. I'm trying to encourage Canberra kiters to spread themselves out over the South Coast instead of arriving en mass to the one location. You are all more than welcome, its just better when you dont all come to the same place at once.

Cheers

I wouldn't worry about the Tigers, it's the White's and Bulls you want to look out for.

The local kite community would prefer that nobody kites beside the airport at Moruya. As Mattress says, there are kilometres of nice beaches here, why kite right beside the airport? South of the breakwall, fine, but rocks and strong currents make it extremely hazardous for beginners.

I'll be more specific: kiters have been asked by the airport not to kite on the northern side of the Moruya Bar. It's pretty obvious once you see the set-up - you're almost pulling raileys on the check-in counter. Still, it seems the planes flying in and out directly overhead are a bit subtle for some people.

Please don't kite there as we don't want to get banned anywhere else. We like having good relations with the local authorities.

Thank you...

PS: Tobes wasn't kidding about the White pointers. They're called that for a reason: by the time you've figured out what they're pointing at.......

nah, forget the bulls, tigers and whites...this year it's the thresher sharks. Been heaps caught.

Just ask Ned at the surf shop about the monster we hooked out off broulee

"we see this big tail and i'm loike...awwwww, then we hook it and i'm going yeeeooowww...then it busted us off and i'm like arrrggghhhh...." all this in about 20 seconds
