Anyone using fisheye lenses and a waterproof bag ? I am using a digital slr and want to shoot from the water with a fisheye lens....
www.opteka.com have some stuff pretty cheap but wanted to know if anyone had tried it and if it worked well....I am pretty sure the bag will cause some problems with the fisheye adaptor but not sure how much...
Anywhere else people know of to get a good deal ?
I need Canon Mount for my camera- checked the price for a good fisheye and I really don't have that cash.
I am going to get some polarizing filters as well and a monopod...any ideas on where to get these ?
i use an EWA housing to shoot surfing, works pretty well and was a hell of a lot cheaper than a rigid housing.
But you wont get good results using a fish eye with it. Shooting through the flat glass on the housing will introduce all sorts of aberrations to the image. Ideally you would want to be shooting through a dome port to get the best out of a fish eye lens.
i use my 16-24mm lens mostly in the EWA housing and find setting it at around 20mm gives me best results.
good luck and hope you put some pics up for us to see!

Couldn't edit my original post, but I bought my housing from these guys. Very happy with it and it wasn't overly expensive. Still lets you play with the aperture and exposure while in the housing which is a huge advantage.
I think these retail for around $1500, but well worth it for the amount of fun you can have with them.
I've noticed alot more people getting into surf photography lately, there were 2 guys shooting from the water last time I was at Dolls Point...
Aquatech are an aussie company that makes housing here in Aus so they may also be worth chatting to.

Yeah Aquatech are better than SPL in my opinion, but the price is a killer!
Jay, I love my SPL housing, they're made from aluminium so can be bumped around a bit more than the aquatechs (I've seen an aquatech housing break before, but I heard they compensated the owner very well).
The aquatech gives you more access to the functions of your camera however, so the pros definitely outweigh the cons if you can afford to buy one.
picked up a cheap fisheye attachment- tried it out today. $40- not bad Sunny day and i left my iso set to 1600 though so all the pics are blown out.
