Hi Guys, am really struggling to decide between a used 2014 and 2015 Cabrinha Switchblade 12m?
Both in good condition, and within a couple of hundred dollars of each other.
Any feedback much appreciated?
haven't flown either but for what its worth;
2015 might still be under warranty
Will hold its value better - but with Cab they all hold their value
2015 makes use of better materials as far as I'm aware
If you can try and demo both, or wait till someone who is in the know replies

Local lad switched from rebels to 2014 switchblades, 7 and 10, he loves them, I rode his 7 , really enjoyed my session on it, very stable, powerfull, no slouch , nice feel at the bar, plenty of custom settings options, looked as good as any in construction, bar was a bit over engineered, adjustable bar option worked a treat, 2dr material a really nice freeride kite, james boulding spends plenty of time on them, so it's freestyle capabilities would be good, he picked the 2 up with one bar for $2300 brand new, the 2015 had very minor tweeks( apparently)
not sure about the 2015 kite, it looks exactly the same to me as 2014. I think both use the same 2DR material.
The main tweak for 2015 was the safety release on the bar which is much easier to reconnect than the 2014 which is near impossible in the water.
so unless you plan to use the safety a lot or ride unhooked a lot then not much difference.
I look at condition and amount of use - if the 2015 is only 200 more then it might have had more use and wear.
where are these kites advertised?
There is very little difference between the kites and no noticeable difference in behaviour.
However, the bars are very different. I would go with the 2015 kite as the 2015 bar was a big improvement on the 2014 bar. The 2014 bar didn't float for a start, had an extra line for safety that went along one of the centre lines for 5m making it difficult to safely secure a camera on the lines.
Go the 2015 Switchy, Cab did tweaks to the kite as well the bar in 2015. I have owned both models of the 12m and the 2015 is a better kite to fly.
