are the new c kites more powerful now than what they use to be? my last c was a 2004 fuel 13m and i replaced it with a 10m switchblade. if i got a new fuel would i now buy a 10m? will a new fuel have the same depower when i push the bar out as a switchblade?

PFR .Be carefull on sizes .
I had an 11 metre fuel of about that era (2004) and it was way smaller than a 10 metre Cabrina CO2 and a Naish Raven 10 metre (when laid out flat on top).
Your 13 metre was probably about the size of a 10 or 11 m in other brands at that time.
Probably your old 13m Fuel was about the same size as your 10 m Switchbade .

I think this thread is heading the wrong way lets get back on topic. Its good to see that they are making a bigger range to suit from beginers to pros now they can ride what best suits there style or have a mixed quiver.

Look what ss have in there bag from full bow to hybrid bow to hybrid c and a traditional c kites you just pick the one that best suits you.

cant wait to see some pictures, my first kite was a 04 co2 with the recon system was as safe as kites got back then and a great allround kite.

Anyone know if it will be a full oldschool 4 line c kite or will it have a small bridle?

When are they likely to be released?

All i have heard is that it will be a Hybrid C called the NOMAD, so i guess it will be a simular style to the RPM.

HA HA, come to Melville WA and see the Bow circus. We have one pine tree that only eats Cabrinhas.....the most common kitemare is a bridle tangle to deathloop....Sure bows/hybrids are easier for beginners, but keep it in perspective.

My point exactly - kooks will be kooks, on bows, c's, or foils for that matter.

Just because it is designed to be safer does not mean people use them more safely.

And with this I agree.

This way the company will make a kite for everyone and for every preference.

Shop stocks a well marketed kite brand.
Then the brand brings out 5 different kites.
Shop must buy many different kites in different colours, models and sizes to satisfy glazed over customers and distribution rights.

No wonder there are so many pimps on internet forums.

If C kites truly are coming back then how come the only bite I have had for my virtually new C kite in the for sale was from an "only one lesson so far" noob? BTW I steared him away as it's not a beginner's kite.

I am not sure there is a genuine exodus to C's but a few niches being explored/rediscovered.

For the record I am heading to hybrids but am gonna mis my C-kite 'feel' I think. Gotta give somewhere to take elsewhere though.

So what are you trying to say that people shouldnt stick to the brand they like just go to a different brand/or possibly shop that sells the type of kite they want. should all cab ridders that want to ride c kites change over to slingshot?

Sounds to me like you have a store with a lot of old stock that you want to flog off even if the customer doesnt get the gear that best suits them.

Doesnt seem like a smart business plan!

Most shops doent carry every model kite in every colour in every size any way it only takes a thew days to get gear all over australia. Its good that customers have choices. I mean how many more green yellow, orrange switchblade ids kites do you really want to see out there. GET A LIFE. POST SOMEWHERE ELSE.

It doesn't look very C shaped in the sky to me. Looks like a retro SB.

IMO the bow will always have a place...
what is a bow kite these days anyway ? what is a Switchblade or a REV bow or Hybrid ?
The manufacturers love to add new names such as Hybrid or Delta WALOC...(what a load of crap )
IMO they do this just to avoid being pigeon holed as a "this kite" or a "that kite" ...the old C v's Bow debate....many people just plainly refuse to ride a bow and others refuse to ride a C...if you were a manufacturer why cut out these people ..just create the same kites call them Hybrid and or Delta's and watch as people fall over themselves wanting to try them out.. makes perfect marketing sense.

Back to the debate... only a bow or bow style kite can offer the ..90% depower simply by releasing the bar, a bow/hybrid will always be a better prospect for gusty days and long downwinders.

A bow WILL NEVER be as good for wakestyle tricks etc....... The C will always rule this area as well as kitlooping...

In fact I reckon you almost need both...........for use depending on the conditions....that is why I keep my 07 Fuels but mainly use a SB.

Both have a definite place and I cannot see either being fazed out in the near future..

Different Strokes for different folks........
