Does anyone know if I can put a cabrinah bar with north kites. Having trouble with the depower line wrapping around the lines with the north bar. Think the cabrinah bar looks better. Any opinions on swaping bars
Sounds like a set up issue! Check ur line lengths when setting up.
I've got a couple of old lines & bar u can have if it doesn't work 4 u.![]()
Think the op. Is refering to the north above bar trim/ depower wrapping around ? If your riding with a lot of depower all the time u probably need to grab a smaller kite .. check your line lengths though could be that too..
Cab bar has a low V compared to north high Y front lines could change the kite a bit .. Norths bar is pretty good tho imo provid your not over cooked. Where do u kite Whats your weight kite size wind strength?

I know I need smaller kite. It is my son 48kilo 7meter out riding 20 to 25knot so have depowered more than half way. I like the look of cabrinah bar depower look very easy as both me and him can't reach the north depower very easy
I wouldn't recommend it.
The North depower loop has velcro on it.
Try putting a sticky patch of the opposite velcro on the side of the stopper.
(more then is already there)
I found it fixed the same issue when i was racing on big kites in high wind.

Good idea I will try this.
The north bar throw and reach is also adjustable from memory the double rope that goes between chicken loop and cleat can be moved around bit by bit shortning throw but trim will be in reach .. he might need something a bit smaller think i saw a 5 neo on here in the buy and sell![]()

I see the 5 neo. But not sure bout size a read that if kite is to small you feel all the holes in the wind more so very gusty. His 7 is a neo and he loves it but he want to do more bigger trick so am thinking maybe dice or a cabrinah switchblade in a 6 meter
... Hey Nissey, not really recommended but can be done,,,, if you really really have too.
Apart from some safety issues, the performance of the kites will change because of the Y or V height or distances as mentioned above.
Basically, low V bar like the Cabs cause the high Y kites like North to spread out or fly wider than intended by the designer so this causes the kite to perform different or not really as intended by the designer. Some like it, and others don't.
Rebels and Vegas will not like it one bit, but other models will be ok, such as Dice, Neo, Dyno, Juice to name a few. These kites have the bridle thing going on so can do it.
I experemented with different bars on different kites a while ago, high Y, low Y/V and always found the original bar designed worked best!
Not sure which kite you have but I think its easier to stick the excess depower rope loop onto velcro as mentioned above or just poke the end loop between the two bits of chicken loop rope just above the cleat. So long as you don't poke too much through, its all good and easy to grab if needed. Just grab the black loop thingy in just enough to hold it in position and its all good.
Good luck,

Easy to do, used a 6m North Dice with a 2014 Cabrinha 4 line bar in 28-35knots. All you need to do is reverse the pigtails so on Cab rear lines from bar I.e green and red have a loop, whilst front white lines have a ball. On North it is the other way around. You may also need to shorten the rear lines to tune for conditions. Essentially as long as all 4 lines same length and flag to single front line, can be flown with most 4 line kites![]()

This is the exact setup I won't 6meter dice on cabrinha bar. Just need to find a second hand 6 dice, not many round. Thanks for the info
