Little video I put together from line mount clips filmed while I was in the Dominican Republic. Flat water and Waves the DR delivers!
WARNING: Wakeskate Go-Pro footage can induce seizure and coma like states for the uninterested.
I would love to go there one day, looks like a chilled out place, warm weather flat water and those little kickers look super fun too.

It's one of the nicest places I've been I think. I will return for sure.

Sweet Video! and yes that place looks mad
lumps of slightly bent plywood rule!
Don't talk about your surfboard like that Greeny!
**** yeah Rowdy, looks fun as mate!
And that footage is not too bad, actually watchable - a tonne better than most of the shaky, nauseating go pro stuff out there!
Hanging to get out on the skate more this season
Nice, enjoyed that one! Seeing you slash those waves on the skate makes it obvious how little most people are really surfing on their kiteboards

True, Kitesurfing is mostly an illusion
. I guess it's still not cool to ride waves on a twin-tip though? because I mean then you wouldn't be "surfing"... right?
Nice vid there Rowdy ! Looks like a great spot and I loved the music and edit. Still not sure about wearing your clothes in the water but hey, who am I to judge. Keep em coming !!

Cheers man!
P.s. Open to suggestions of what to wear in the water. I'm not really feeling the scare your kids uncle Tony speedo look, anything else is good.
I'd like to watch it but 4 whole minutes
My attention span isn't that lo... hey look a squirrel
You're right, 4minutes is like an epic these days, would love to see the internet generation try and sit through one of the old Naish VHS's hahahaha.
Enduring Rowdy's selfie hipster vids is like watching bad porno ... featuring really ugly chics.
You watch bad porno with really ugly chicks?
What Skate are you riding?
Same one as last few years Pete, it's a custom skate a magical shaper in France built me haha. I've actually still never met the guy in person, great skate though! It's roughly 112cm x 41 from memory.
That skate looks tiny, surprised you can ride it upwind. When are we going to see some other wakeskate vids? Only decent ones I've seen are from Tape and yourself the rest just look sloppy and uncontrolled.
p.s. What would be the cost to make one?
It's pretty small, but with proper technique (foot placement) it goes up wind ok if you have enough juice.
I guess Wakeskate with a kite is still small, it's not exactly easy to get into and I think most people are put off by the time it takes to learn tricks properly. It's also not easy to get hold of a proper skate (mines a custom). I'm sure in the future we will see more people taking it up and doing far better than I do.
Cost to make would probably be around 2-300 dollars I think. It's mostly wood and epoxy, with some PU siderail and griptape ontop.
its getting big at cairns. Gdog had made a few, and they pass the jig around so other people can build them. thats the direction ill go down when my body wont let me do wakestyle anymore.
thats the direction ill go down when my body wont let me do wakestyle anymore.
It's a good idea, but then you get more and more into it and realise your still getting just as hammered haha.
I've got no idea what you're doing mate, but it looks bloody hard. How does it feel on a wave without fins? I take it you have no fins.
Much like a skimboard without fins, you need to use your edge control a lot. I think it's a good way to fine tune your board skills.
