HI all I was going to get a new kite have not been kitting long but was looking to try a foil out as I have a inflatable already. Can someone tell me what are some good foil kites to buy besides Flysufer because I just dont have $2500 up to spend on a kite. Is HQ or PL kites ok and what size would be good in wind range from 12-25 knots as I never see the foils out there so im not too sure if they need the same surface area as the inflatables.

Why do you want to buy a foil if you've already got an inflatable? Are you going for the same size? Anyways if your local shop supplies them, you should definitely try before you buy it. They will also be able to help you with size (though size wise their pretty comparable to LEIs

Is it just me but from watching vidoes on foil riders that Flysurfer kites are the only ones that provide good lift or is it all in the rider

Angry C-kites seem to provide the best lift in the videos i've seen.

This is what I would call good lift...(see jump at 1min 15 seconds!)

Most of the flysurfer vids of Toby the toe pointer have him riding very big kites.
Awesome hangtime but at a cost.

Yes I just relised the lack of info on this post very sorry I weigh about 80-85kg its for the water so kitesurfing and I have seen PL and HQ kites are a lot cheaper then FS foils are they still ok I was thinking of a 13-15m foil as it looks like you need a bigger foil to get the air and yes I still want a foil kite

I cant understand this question.....
I flew sleeping bags for a few years when i started, and the best move i ever made was switching to real kites..!
The only advantage that i can see, is you may get on the water 30sec quicker if your lazy and dont want to pump up a real kite...! (so just buy one of those battery jobs and stick with inflatables)
In conparison to what you allready have: performance, feel, light wind, crankin wind, relaunch, safety and SAFETY will all be compromised...!

Thats just my opinion though....!
once you see it fly straight over your head or it turns into a twisty, then you will know what im talking about. I still see a few around, but the dudes that hav'm are goooood swimmers...!
