Hey guys,

Im looking at moving to broome however im worried that I wont be able to get much kiting in. What are the wind conditions like? I currently live in perth and am spoiled for wind come summer.

Does anybody know if it is any good up there or any other areas close by? I've tried the search function and can't really find any decent answers.

Are the crocs, sharks and stingers a major issue?

Cheers

Been there a few times during winter months - always seems to be a strong (15-20) morning easterly. not sure about summer months......

Your gonna be pleasantly surprised. Wind is not as good as Perth, but there is enough wind in summer for big kites & heaps of 10-12 mtr days in winter. I'm 85 kgs. Crocs & stingers are not really an issue. Water is warm, can drive on the beach ( so beer is icey cold) Heaps of kiters have turned up & wished they had there gear. You do get periods that are ****, but your kiting all year round

Thanks guys, it has definitely help with my decision to move! I guess i'll be looking at a 17mtr in the near future then. I only have a 9 and a 12 atm. Im 100kgs so the 12 might get me by for a little bit but I imagine i'll get quite frustrated.

Sunday was a zephyr day about 14 knots, Lane kited willie creek yesterday & had a good 11 mtr day, had it all to himself & was dead neaps so he had the lagoon all morning.
Only kited Broome for three years & in that time none of us have been stung & in summer it's boardies & T shirts & heaps of piss.
Also there's only ever 4-5 of us out there.
See ya's when ya get here.
