G'day All,
First time on here. Have learnt heaps from your posts thus far.

Well I'm looking at a trip to Boracay in Jan 2015 however I've read a couple of posts about how it compares to Melville Perth I was wondering is it that bad as I was looking at spending 9 days there with my family.
Is it work it or not?
Cheers
Macca

I've been a few times to Philippines and always had a great time, altough I've never kited there. I plan to go kiting there sometime in the future and have looked into it a bit. From Boracay you can go on kiting safaris by catamaran which is what I want to do (Seco Island I think would be awesome). January would be the right time to go as the kiting season in Philippines is parallel to WA.

Went there October 2013 not much wind as the season hadn't really started.
It's seriously over rated mainly onshore winds with only a few metres of beach on the high
Tide. On the low you can walk waist deep in the lagoon so all the shops are teaching students and
It's a cluster f###.
You have to consider that heaps Euros are there at that time just to escape their winter.
Best advice as above checkout WA in January.

G'day all, Appreciated everyone's point of view. I might explore WA more and save the Phillipines and my money for another time. Cheers

was in boracay with family for 10 days in feb this year
best holiday of our lives

amazing for family (we hired house and had live in nannies...)
heaps to do there amazing place amazing people etc etc

wind was bit on light side but had a few v solid days out there

Never kited bulabog beach, agree with above complete mess there, however theres an entire coast of amaaaazing beaches and crystal water etc etc
i was kiting island to island and there is this great beach to set up and stop off at, on mainland Caticlan, entire kite set up with really cool owners, id spend the day there (massive amounts of flat water, couldnt ask for better) then kited back to boracay, landed my kite on beach and walked into our house we rented (i rented on non-touristy WINDY side of island which suited me just fine..

all that being said my next holiday is going to be to WA (or cocos) i reckon but if you after more than just kiting specific holiday boracay is great
