Can someone tell me if the boardies over the wetsuit look is functional, cultural or just a waaank ?

Its a fashion thing taken from alot of the cold weather wakeboarders.
However, cut offs/boardies over the wettie also stopped you shredding your wettie should you get dragged around the beach when learning back in the day on C-kites.
It also stopped you from looking like a stick of liquorice on a board like the poles! ha ha
If your wearing a shortie, i think boardies over it looks cooler and also just looks like your wearing a wetsuit top then so no dramas! The pockets also pretty good for fixing the car key into :0)
What about the new NPX drysuit which looks like snowboard wear for the water......that might be taking it a bit to far but apparently its really good and would look cool if you were kiting in snowy waters! People wouldnt know if you had a snowboard or a kiteboard until you jumped in! ha ha

Guys, you should ask the groupies on the beach, they'll be happy to keep your car keys and will tell you to stop wearing boardies over wetsuits as it looks very Gay. Just surf in your little wetsuits you all look very sexy, focus on what you do in the water : we're watching you!

people ive talked to in person say that it stops your harness rubbing on your wetsuit...?
This summer im gunna wear my wetsuit over my boardies.Now that will be cool and sooooo comfortable 
i do it because it makes me feel better about myself and who i am.
an added bonus is it does reduce a bit of the old ball slap on hard landings too.. some of us do want to be able to produce children when we get as old as u lot

I wear my wetsuit over my boardies, makes my crotch look bigger and the ladeees love it.
