Hi folks I've seen a 9 m kite on sale with no bar ( Cabrinah chaos 2013 )$900 , I only have 55 cm bars where the recommended bar for this kite is 48 cm
What is the down side to using a bigger bar than recommended ,
Shop guy says no problem , just looking for a second opinion ,cheers
Also is $900 sheets ok for this kite used 5 times still very crispy

it will just make the kite turn a bit faster.
as your asking the question the cons of a large bar wont affect you at this level

I myself put a lot of input into my turning so I fly a 9 on 45cm bar. 55cm n ill loop the kite in a hell of a tighter radius. Small bars need more input so not as touchy if ur handle passing n stuff.

I've just asked the exact same question the other way round (smaller bar on bigger kite) and got a physics lesson. This may help you out.

Upside is - kite will turn faster with less effort. If that's what you want, go for it.

I often use my 55 bar on with my 5mtr kite, it's no problem if you are a reasonably experienced kiter, the kite just turns fast so you have to be aware and don't do anything to erratic.
I am only wave riding and actually love it because you can loop the kite fast and easy going down the line whenever you want, if you want a bit more speed to make a section or whatever.
For some freestyle tricks etc it may be better for the kite to turn slower though.
