The local Chinese government actually created a lot more beach just for the event. They do it every year.
I haven't actually been to one but know alot of people who have. I will be going next comp.
Local Sydney kiter Alison Child walked away with some placed rides there this year, and some good prize money......
china was awesome holiday. the KTA delivered an outstanding event. $60 entry fee, with free accommodation, food and even beer. Very happy with the prize money too.
it was great advertisement for the sport.
And if only 1 percent take it up thats 13,000,000. and if only 1 percent of that go to Perth for a nice Aussie kiting holiday thats only 130,000 extra kiters at Scarbs!
Won't that really give the poleys something to whine about.
Anyone know much about Pingtan as a spot? Would be cool to kite somewhere a bit different, soak up a bit of culture, etc etc.
