For me, forget your new kites (broadly the same as last year), boards, foils, etc... This has been a revelation! A none-geeky cap (once you remove the neck flap). It floats, doesn't cover your ears with some mesh (what is with that!?), comes in different sizes (I've got a massive head and it fits) and it dries quickly. Can also be used off the water no problems.
