Hello all, I often enjoy unhooking and doing "fisherman grip" loops, however the foam grips on my North bar often get ripped along the bar causing it to bunch up at the end.
I was wondering what everyone else reckons is a good bar for this?
Maybe if there was a bar that extends out past the turning lines so it feels more like a fishermans pole?

Cheers, Rob

Slingshot bars are virtually indestructible, not too sure if it will get on very well with that stupid 5 line stuff though!

Its a north bar - very common for the grip to simply peel off - my mates bars look crap after just one season.
F-one bars don't seem to have the same problem, my other griffin bar hasn't peeled but it has started to develop 'bumps' where its come unstuck ( not corrosion bumps as the bar is carbon it appears) I m amazed that the North bars fall apart so easily - meant to be a good brand hey?? that said Cabrinha have a recall out - maybe its just one of those 'Toyota' moments - oh what a moment!! F-one bandit 4's had a really bad batch of bars that corroded terribly - not a good thing for a good kite brand - Rob have you had a discussion with your North Dealer /supplier about you poor experience??
Oh and if you are taking the piss LOL - stop sliding your hand along the shaft of your bar - just grab it by the end !!

The Switch controller2 bar that has had heaps of use over more than 2 seasons and the grip is as good as new - the grip has no seams like the North bar. From the Switch site...

Made using a special formulated synthetic elastomer exclusively developed for Switch. Compared to the commonly used EVA, this product produces an extremely tacky yet incredibly durable surface. Applied seamless in a special mould under high pressure and heat, the textured channel design gives you a comfortable feel but unprecedented grip.

Switch have only just released the Controller 3. The bar is a little heavier than the North and the bar diameter a little smaller. Smaller and larger bars are also available.

My Slingshot bars were wrecked after about 2 seasons and had to be glued back together.
My old BEST bars that had 4 seasons LITERALLY look like new! ( Though I was doing a lot of cruising back in them days)
