I have just bought a second hand Waroo but having problems with the valves. they are a plastic ball valve. leading edge pumps up fine but the struts deflate to much before the valve closes. is there any tricks of the trade to overcome this or have i bought a kite with dud valve. thanks in advance.
Before you pull the pump out of the strut... tilt the strut so that the valve faces down, and the ball will fall into place as you pull out the nozzle of the pump.
You'll find that once you've used the kite a bit more, the valves will soften up a bit and the balls will lodge into place a little more easily.
another trick is to keep tapping the valve after pulling the pump out and it will bounce into place.
I fly 13 and 9 m 08 waroos. love em. cheepish too.
I pump struts before LE so you can easily pump the strut, turn it upside down without flipping the whole kite. Tip the strut so the ball seats itself then little or no air escapes. (i used to do this now I just pump them a bit harder and pull the pump out suddenly. ball seats neatly nearly always.
