I am 70 kgs and trading in my SB 10m for a f-one set up...
I weigh 70kgs, what do you think will be the wind range for me with a 5'4''- 5'10'' surf board and a 8m bandit 6??
I need a set up that I can use in 13-30 knots...
If this wont get me out in the low end, I'll need a 12 also.
What do you guys think??
:D
Really hard to say at the moment there is little out on this kite. The bandits do have a decent low end. Shame was talking to a bandit rider only yesterday who was riding a surfboard and has used bandits for years. I have a 12 bandit 5 and I weigh 76kg, low end on a cb wave is realistically about 14 to 15 knots, on a sector about 10 to 12, so you might just be right if you are prepared to do downwinders on a 13 knot day.
Funny story on the bandit guy, he was relatively old and yet rides a lot of flat water back at home and was giving me the best advice on variations on back and front loops. Was cool getting advice about looping from a 55 yr old, and his advice was gold. Can learn off everyone it seems.
I just saw this link today, review of the Bandit 6 hope this helps

Friend of mine (about your weight) has a B5 8m and a 5'8 WAM. I can say with some confidence that you won't be disappointed with your proposed combo if doing surf downwinders.
If you want a second lightwind kite and/or need to go upwind on a surfboard I would suggest you try the 11m for your weight. Alternately, you may also consider a one kite 2 surfboard quiver of say a 6'2 and a 5'6/5'8 with a set of Black sticks fins.
Onto the B6.........
I have had the 10m B6 for 4 days and I've had 4 sessions on it mainly in surf downwinders. I rode the 10m B6 in light and powered conditions on a 6'4 F one surfboard and loved it. Quick to turn, Great drift, good bottom end - in short it is a more refined B5.
I'm 97kg and also have the 9 and 12 B5. I won't be upgrading the 9 & 12m B5 this year because they are simply great kites. The 12 B5 is a standout kite for a bigger guy in lighter wind surf conditions with the prominent features being turning speed & drift. Those features in continue in the B6.
I have the 8m B6 on back order and am told mid November for delivery. That leaves me with an 8,10,12 quiver. I am keeping the 9 B5 because its too good to let go and I'm in a fortunate position in life that I don't need to sell it but in the unfortunate position that my wife also needs a kite so she will inherit the 9.
Matt from m8 has a 9 and 10 as demo's so my advice would be to get in contact with m8 and try the 9m B6 on a variety of boards.
Hope this helps.
Thanks very much for your response guys, helping a lot!
I have been presented with a deal today thats a bit different, i can get 2 sizes of liquid force envy for the same price as one bandit.... never been a fan of LF, but tried it today and preformed quite well!
Any advice with that?
Is the bandit that much better that its worth dishing out double the coin???
