Surfboard and 12m kite is fine in 14 knots if you are around 70-80 kilos.
A 14m if you are 90 of over kilos!
Some place on the west coast wind get couple of more knots but only with afternoon extra adding of thermal breeze.

Mostly wind is around 12-14 knots but there are also some days when could get a bit stronger!

If you want to use a 7-8 meter kite Bali will never be the place.

Most of the people who live here don't even own a small kite..

If you go to our Facebook Group "Kitesurf Bali" you can read our daily and monthly report for the wind. You should be able to go back to last June....

That's ok for you stickmen but at nearly 30kg heavier I struggled (only 20kg heavier now so ready to try again)
14knots on a 12 and surfboard at under 90kg is very do-able, but be careful normally cross off on the Kuta side.

I run run the coaching camps with Ben...... so I can answer your questions

We are only running one camp this year and its the first week in August.
The wind ranges from 40-20kts and the direction is side shore with a touch of onshore
The break is a Aframe peak - which provide a great rippable wave

The wind is ideal for teaching technique - as you cant practise the new skills in strong winds and the moderate conditions allow you to try new techniques.

If you are well over 90kgs then a big kite and biggish surfboard will allow you to get going

Wave height varies but the smallest we get is waist high to double over head on big swells
here is some video form the camp in 09

Bruce, been to that A frame spot last two years july/august what's the explanation for the wind there to have a bit less grunt, looks like 15 + knots whitecaping there but has about same punch of 10-12 knts back home here ? N/W of kuta does get consistently stronger wind than sanur though, if anyones off to sanur take a 14m + as a backup. Ahhh 7 months to go

I really appreciate all your help we are actually thinking of going about the 20 th of June on the way back from the uk, my largest kite is a 12 rally which has a fair bit of grunt but even on my 6 foot surf board minimum is 15 knots really. So the question is this , can I hire a 12/14 m rally rather than Taking it to the uk to come back and can I hire a 6/6,2. Underground kapalla board. that's the one with the grip on the set down deck and my board here. I really don't want to plan a major holiday and find out I can't get the board I need or even the kite, don't mind taking my 12 to the uk but not the board . Also which is the beach with the most wind and good waves there seems to be mixed opinion on this subject .

Thanks again, I always plan my trips with the advice of this forum, you never really go wrong with the right help , that's why this sport is unique .

Cheers

I hope you get wind but - we think June is too early - july aug are the most consistent months - but you may get lucky -

June - July - August are the best months...
Every year is a bit different but at least you can count to get in the water 50% of the days!
Sorry nobody rent Slingshot here and the rental of the kites is limited at Sanur area.

I sometime do rent my own kites under supervision if I go to Canggu and I trust the person who want it. Bit my bigger kite this year will be a C4 13m.
We do have Underground kite boards for rent but the bigger is a 5'8.

Hope this can help.
