Just got back from a two week trip the winds ranged from from a forecast 12 knots up to about 21knots south east. I would suggest taking a slightly larger twin tip than what you would usually ride as the wind guru forecast tends to over state by 3-5 kn. We kited at Nusa Dua which I had on my own on most occasions with only two other kiters. Forget 9 mtrs more like 13 mtr & 16 mtr. I watched a Euro on a 19 mtr when it was forecast 12 knots, its an uncrowded beach and is fair for launching & landing, mostly direct on shore with waves a little further out, no tide issues at this place. if you hire a driver from Kuta it costs about 200,000 ($25.00)for the day and he waits for you, i would take some soft booties next time as there are some sharp shells and other nasties which take their toll on soft insoles. Dont expect much assistance from other kites they dont share the same strategy as we do here in Oz.
so take an extra 2-3 mtrs of kite and about 4cm more of twin tip
weight & packing 13 mtr, 132cm board
i bought a larger board bag which to put my harness in i also removed my fins and handle, as it makes for less damage prone with snapped fins, total weight 14kg
