Was just in Bali, and the guys from Bali Kitesurfing school really took care of us. My missus had a lesson about a year ago, and after a couple more hours of instruction she was up on the board. The instructor rides in a boat (With a driver) behind the student so they are always close by, and when you get too far down wind, jump in the boat and cruise back to the top of the lagoon and go again – nice. Thanks also to Jankie form Kite and Surf Bali, for the local info.
And on top of that we got some good wind too, the gusts were hitting over 25 knots on Sunday arvo!

Nice one burls...

yeah jankie is a top guy.. I'm guessing that 'Kadek' and his brother were teaching you from the boat. I learned from these guys in Sanur and there was no classroom nonsense. Just straight out on a peter lynn foil kite in deep water and having fun.

It's a pity the windy time is only 3 months of the year as it would be a top place to go for longer. I worked over there for 12 months and every 2 weeks I hit sanur and kited with these guys. They used to string out a long gill net around the kite area on calm days and then catch fish and cook them on a BBQ for everyone and throw on the beers.. Miss the place quite a lot and made some good friends there.

bagus sekali!

You guys are mostly welcome,
always good to be of assistance! Yes the past weekend was very good and you were very lucky. Westerly wind are really unpredictable but when they blow Sanur become one of the best places ever...
The guys at the BKS are Kadek and Komang and they are doing a great job.
I'm trying to make them more independent and they have now a Group on Facebook..
If you are a FB fan just hook them up there. Search on FB for "Bali Kitesurfing School".

There is also another small school just open at the Mercure hotel and are Wayan and Made that use to work with Kadek and Komang and they are now flying solo.
The name is Matahari Kitesurfing School, they are very nice guys too...

Hope to see you all in Bali again.
Bye Jankie
