Just be wary of the size limits.
The Syd-Bali has a first leg stopover at Melbourne on an A320.
Max luggage length for this aircraft is 190cm (6'2") which really limits board choice.
Looks like they are long stopovers too!

Hey guys

I just spent 3 weeks here in Bali and smuggled on 2x 6'4" boards, in a 7' boardbag. No questions asked at check in at either Hobart (domestic flight) or Melb (intl flight). Not suggesting take a malibu, but it seems you can get away with shortboards without any issues.

Also - there was heaps of wind at Canggu when I was there. At least 5 Euro kiters out each day. Had to help one of them self rescue to avoid drifting into swimmers on one occasion! Definitely worth packing the kite.

WTF? Going backwards before going forwards when the plane will be 95% full seems like a bad way to waste a few hours to save a few $$.

Clearly the pilgrimage to bogan mecca knows no bounds!

I fell victim to the plane swap thing a few years ago.
They have me two options, saw nose off board or leave at airport. I was stuck with no big wave board.

Not worth the hassle if leaving via syd imo.
Stuff being at the airport for 10hrs waiting for the next flight.

Has anyone actually tried to book at that price? I couldn't find a single flight anywhere near that price.

I called them earlier and said that deal had sold out. Which sucks.

We got $280 each return after taxes and 15kg baggage
Girlfriend had $88 one way, with $28 return selected and then that disappeared
Still stoked with $280 return not stoked about 8hr wait in Sydney on way home

What, you guys will cop an 8 or 10 hour wait between flights to get it cheap? or do you just not get direct flights?

Probably advise which will come back and bite me one day! But the trick to getting the cheap flights when they go on sale, is to use the mobile Jetstar app, not via a browser ! They seem to use different backend servers, and the PC/Browser one always gets belted, and you end up losing your session. We booked 16 people at the $88 there, and $32 return via mobile, while my mates using PC/Browser got none.
