Curious to know what oth kiters consider to be bad Juju on the water. What's a sign or omen that will make you go.. Fek this, I'm getting my sh1t to shore and fleeing the beach? Or am I alone with my superstitions?
For me the bad Juju usually starts before I get in the water. Something doesn't feel right, you can't put your finger on it but you know it aint right. The addiction kicks in and drives you to put the gear on anyway but that "feeling" is sitting there the whole time. From that point on you're looking for signs to confirm the feeling.. whale breach in front of you, big grey object in the water, seagulls flying backwards. Anything to confirm your inner fear and give you an out

I had my kite shaddow scare the living b-jeepers out of me one day.....

The sky turns black and angry.
The wind dies.
Wind switches offshore.
Bar out fully depowered trim pulled fully, still speeding up....
Solo 35+ knots.
While in the water after a crash sorting my stuff out I had a dolphin blow air out of its blow hole right beside me like 1 1/2 metre beside me . I have to say I had a blow hole too . After that I got up and riding away and had the dolphin swimming beside me and was playing with water wash off the board was one of those bad ,good moments . Other than that if it feels bad don't do it cause your inner feeling are not wrong most of the times .
dude walks a kay up an empty beach to rig up along the shore line right in front of the 50 metre area i been playin in by myself for three hours
takes half an hour to set up
has gloves on
retracta board leash clipped to his harness
gets his missus to launch his kite
he stands there, she has to move herself and the kite into position
kite falls backwards and rolls around
his missus finally sorts him out and he walks out into the water waist deep 10m kite at twelve
he effectively cuts my run length in half, i'm on a 17 and a skim board
i feel the juju creeping so i go in
watch as his kite stalls and drops into the waves and washes onto the oyster rocks
last seen getting into his wicked van and driving off
the exhaust once set the sea weed under my car on fire , that will get you out the water every time. .
