A mate bought a BWS 6m Noise. Probably about a 2012 model .
It’s doing something that I haven’t seen before in the my 13 years in this game.
When powered up it seems to behave itself, but when you depower it a bit it gets this pivoting / rocking type of motion.
It’s not moving forward in the window then drifting back. It seems to just rock back and forward on the front lines. Worse when gusty.
Pull tension back on the bar it seems to right itself. I did notice that the bridle line that goes through the ring to back line does become slack when it’s doing it. I don’t understand why.
Maybe the line coming from the wing tip / back line is too long.
Any help solving this problem would be appreciated.

It sounds like the bridal is screwed. They stretch and change over time and this really effects the kite. Usually if you replace the bridal it will feel like a new kite. But on this kite model, the white p lines (the ones connected the the trailing edge that run through the metal ring) shrink massively, because of the metal ring.
Id replace these first and see if that makes a difference.
If you see another of these kites the same size you could also compare the bridal lengths.
With the Revs the bridle lines actually twist and become shorter, that means the kites back lines end up longer when adding the shorter length of the bridle + the length of the front line.. The bar is tuned obviously and the lines are equal.
Tie a knot 2cm up from where you attach the back lines on the pig-tail of the kite. Try and fly it in light winds. depower the kite a little bit and you will find the sweet spot. Chew open your new knots and adjust accordingly.
This will work while your waiting on your new set of P-lines

I've got 2012 BWS Kites, have a look at this old seabreeze thread. Changed my P lines and they were like different kites, some lines had shrunk by 200mm.

Yep, thats why the BWS kites went to the O ring, the pulleys used to twist them badly. Its not a Rev but the design was based on it, hence the comparison.
On the 6m you don't actually need the p lines if you pump the kite up hard. If you read thru that link above it's mentioned in there. I have the same kite, found Dannos comments about removing the p lines which I did and it flies much better. Used it last night in fact.![]()
The "P" line was 120mm shorter.
made up an extention and hope to try it out tomorrow.
If that doesn't work i will remove p line and pump up tighter.
