All kiters who have enjoyed the Kite Surfari experience will be dismayed to hear that some low life has robbed the Kite Surfari Lodge. Solar panels, kiteboard lights, batteries, switches, generator, fridge, esky, kites, boards, kite buggy, power tools and even plates, cups and cutlery have all been stolen. Cairns locals are pulling together with a raffle and working bee to get the camp up and running for this season. If anyone feels they can help in some way please message me, together we may help restore a little humanity.
That sucks, hope you turn up something (rumour of a big cash reward might help...)
Obviously watch gumtree/ebay/ebay us etc. Some have even been dumb enough to put stolen stuff on seabreeze!
If you put any info/pics of kite gear/buggy/etc here then we can all help keep an eye out.
Yep give us ya kite gear list...we will watch.
I have a golf club 1 wood under my bed you can have to go with the baseball bat if you want.
Pricks.
even plates, cups and cutlery have all been stolen.
wtf.. why would someone steal this stuff?
sounds fishy - like someone wanted to give the business a set back.

plenty of people live rough in the rainforest. they come out of the hills every now & again to raid places for anything that might be of use. my neighbour's place at cape trib got completely picked over once- pumps, solar pwr gear, clothes, food, cutlery, tools, tarps.

yeah right, makes sense.. damn ferals
That is really bad news. Ant works really hard to make those tours an amazing experience. I would reccommend it to any kiter. It has come a long way over the last few years. I hope some of the gear turns up.
It is pretty remote, no power etc... The camera would just get stolen too!
faaark that sucks gaz, hope this cyclone doesn't come through and make things worse for the place :(
Oh no! That is terrible news. My wife and I were planning a trip there next season. Fingers crossed everything and equipment found.
Have you considered a local aboriginal person or someone with skills to track the tyre/foot marks? Not many people would venture into your camp without an invitation, so it could be easy to trace back some footsteps? But then again a cyclone is coming through there tomorrow.. Feel for you guys. I'll keep an eye out around Townsville and Cash Convertors, GumTree, Facebook, etc. Marvin - InTheLoop - he'll keep an eye out too I am sure.
Yeah lofty, Ant's all over it but there is just such a big window when it could of happened. Go ahead and book for the season we will get things squared up again in the next few weeks, really depends on what this cyclone does.
Planning to be over in a few months... I hope you guys recover and let us know if I can bring anything from the 'mainland'?

Dont you just hate that!! Worthless skumbags that spoils all for others!! I was one of the guys whos gear was stolen at the kitstock in Dongara but due to great police work and the power of locals the idiots was caught! Never thought I would see my poved gear again......Thanks Dongara Police......hope they get what they deserve!! Good luck guys, you never know....
Really quite sad. Ant has never run the surfaris for cash, it's always been about love of the sport and a great experience. Really hope they find at least some of the gear. Really a huge shame. If they are running this year I'll definitely be up this year as a show of support.
Hope the cyclone dont take the cabins away ![]()
I think the cabins are going to be in for a rough time.... ![]()
f#uck$ng c#nts.
Ant'll track 'em down and calmly explain the reasons why it wasn't a supa tops idea to steel his stuff.

FLAMMING MONGRELS!!!
Australian Kite Surfari Is open!
We Just need to say thank you, everyone for your kind thoughts. And from the amazing support we have had from around the world. We have had a few speed bumps to over come...Huge thanks to the Yorkys crew! Guys you are truly amazing!!!! we could not do this with out all your help!
That is fantastic news Ant. Did you recover most of your gear?
The guys at Yorkeys rock! They've saved my ass once too.
The Yorkeys's mob had a blast and it was a privilege to visit such an awesome kite surfing spot and help a mate keep his dream alive. Australian kite surfari clients can expect an even better experience this year with an expanded deck area, new floor, pizza oven, shade sail and an extra tank. The cyclone has changed the sand a bit and created a bigger flat water play ground. The wind over Easter cranked hard so it was not all about work. Do yourself a favour and get up there, you will not be disappointed.
The reception at the camp has been badly affected... So please be patient Ant and I will answer all emails as soon as possible . We have to drive a hour for reception until telstra fixes the problem after cyclone Ita! We have been up at our camp working on making it bigger and better then ever!
