Hi folks,
I'm off to Augusta for a few days with fam camping and will pack the kite gear (and the bikes and the kyaks and snorkelling gear and..).
Anyway I'm completely ignorant of waves to kite in around Augusta. If no other option I'll get out on the flat stuff in river mouth but would prefer some wedges. Bit reluctant to kite river mouth after running over the +3 mtr shark sighted off the Flozzer drain last week! ![]()
Understand reluctance to post on a forum to avoid crowds so please pm me if you have any tips. ![]()
Ideally looking for easy access (have an xtrail tho) crosshore beachies or no dramas spots and not too far from town as fam time is priority.
Ha ha - can I have a set of steak knives and a bikini chick to pump my kite as well??![]()
Cheers. ![]()
EDIT: Margs graphs showing SE next week, so spots to suit would be much appreciated.
Boranyup. Kited the mouth last week and didn't see said shark - he must have moved
. Otherwise Boranyup.
The beachies between the cut and river mouth can be good if its easterly. Boranup is a ripper on its day if its S-SW. You'll need a decent 4WD but its worth it. Have fun and be safe.
Ta - good info so far fellas.
Wind looks to be SSE / SE for next week (looking at Margs graphs) so maybe beachies will line up.
would love to go to Boronup but time may be against me. Solo kiting too so maybe not too remote this time.
Keep the suggestions coming : )
Hi GetFunky,
Would you mind forwarding all those PMs to me? I'm heading down that way myself at the end of January.
Cheers
dang it looks pumping for the next few days, if you like FLAT water and smooth wind at da patch haha![]()
