Hi all !
This morn.I woke up with great urge to be surrounded by water ,internally and externallyand I wonder if there is someone who would like to kite into the NY early today.
I have a bad feeling there is noone at the beach at the moment and one of the kiting rules keeps poping up in my head- DONOT KITE ALONE.
Did try to check St kilda camera but its rainning and hard to see anything.
If someone feels like no driving yet no worries .I did pass out early into the NY( after quick look at the forecast and seeing solid 25 knts.)and can pick you up if close to the beach.
If not today I would be also happy toget in touch with people later inNY.
Im sure its better to kite with someone for extra sec. speeding up learnning, swapping the newish gear etc.
Im in position to kite any day any time if the wind is right( well 90 % of time).
Happy to go anywhere from St.Kilda to Rosebud.
So if you started at least last year!!!!!!( as I did) and confident in going up wind trasitions etc. please give me a bell on 0411353807.

Thanks Rhys I will definetly do it in a day or two just have to get myself together after 5 hour sess. in st kilda today.
Had the feeling that predicted 25 knts. was more like 30 knots since I had real fight with my 11m most of that time.
Probably not the best day for the beginners no wonder noone called me.

I spent half an hour at St Kilda on my 9m just after 5:30. It was gusty and crap so I ended up calling it a day. Its bad enough having double jumps but I generally call it a day when they start going to triple jumps. Its just wasn't fun so I pity any beginners that found themselves on the water today.

There were definitely gusts well over 25.

I was out at Brighton between 2.30 and 5 and it was pretty sh!te. Gusty, choppy. Not too much fun but better than nothing - only good for big jumps. Pretty maxed on a 9 in some of the gusts and underpowered at the end.

Maybe today.

Hampton had some of the best ocean-like surf I've seen on the bay between 3:00-4:00. Big, steep, dark green faces. Fantastic. Lots of guys on 7-8-9m kites and surfboards whizzing between sailboards and guys on twintips.

Fawkner Beacon was reading up tyo 35knots at the time.

The wind dropped about 4:30 but it was still ridable and came back in gusts from time to time.

Great start to the year.

Its nice to hear that not only beginners did struggle in st kilda yestarday, I thought that it was only me who found those conditions crap.
Its true the wind did drop around 5 pm but not for long when I finished about 7 pm it was so strong that I was unable to pack my 11m kite into the bag.
Hope the rest of the year will be more pleasant, but it was definetly good start.

Cheers
