Great. They wont be there till the weekend? Anyone up here like tomorrow? I am meeting another responder at Perisher but the wind there is too gusty. We'll either kite there or head up to the top.
The 08 Havoc will hit the shops next week, our team riders and testers have found the 08 Havoc is much improved all round. Good stability and much more responsive, turns much faster and better depower. The wingtip design has changed and so has the bridle system. Quality is also bettered (touchwood we have not had one returned to us for warranty claim on the 07 Havocs as yet). It also unhook a lot better and doesnt stall the kite at all. Graphics has also changed, and bar is one of best LF has brought out to date. You just need to fly it to feel the distinct impovement. Will post this on the gear review section so others can contribute/read too.

Last day on the snow tomor. Anyone wanna join us give us a bell. Had a ball today with Alex & Tim though wind was up and down to 15kts. Went on new undisturbed terrain, was fun getting stuck on thigh deep soft snow lol.
Where did you go?Interested ?
Cheers

Over the road at Perisher. Wont recommend it for first timer as there are trees, rocks, creek, holes, soft snow (got stuck over a meter deep yesterday).
saw a couple guys up near the top of the basin at thredbo a few days ago, flysurfer and a trainer kite... pretty nuking last couple days
Yea, the bucketing of snow yesterday morning stopped all chairs for like an hour or two at Perisher and Blue Cow, but most T-bars remained open. How nice was that new foot of soft fluffy snow! Never thought I'd get so much pull from a trainer kite too!
We had a good day at Thredbo yesterday.
Started out at the top of karels got up the top of the ramshead range and went to Kosi .The snow was really hard verging on ice but there were awesome pockets of wind blown .The slope that runs down to cootapatamba was the pick .The snow wasn't as hard and there nothing to throw the wind around and you can see the vic alps .It can be a bit gusty there .If you are not so experienced there is a great spot just to the right of the top of karels and up (about 10 min walk)Also when we came back there is an even better spot half way up Karels and off to the right (near the top bullwheel for basin T bar .)
Hey guys I'm coming down this weekend, how does the forecast look? Is anyone kiting around perisher as I will be ski tubing it up? Feel free to send me message if need. I'm keen as? ps what kite and size4 do you reccommend?
I have left now but had a great time up there. I was out on my 12 tho I also brought my 6m and 3m trainer. Have fun, you will love it!

Thanks padi are you heading back at all as I will be there with a group of friends from 19th august for the week
I am very tempted but Im taking a group up to Cairns to kite in August. Perhaps after that I'll come again if there's still snow. I was skiing in NZ the year before till November and it's so nice to ski in a t-shirt!

Hey dave, I will also be down their with a group from year 11 Lake macquarie High (Bring some memories back!)
Not planing on Kiting, but if you are having a go I would come and check it out, might bring my harness![]()
We will have a half day on Sunday plus the next 5 days.
Are you going down with other kiters
ric
No going down with a mate, make sure you sms or call me when you get there and I'll let you know what I'm up to..Be good to catch up
You should bring a trainer if you have one, in such case, no harness required! I was amazed how much power I got and fully pulling me along on the snowboard! But it was pretty hard on my arms. Much prefer a big kite with depower ![]()

A tip 4 anyone snowkiting with their LEI kites ,and also a good tip 4 lines and bridles
if the snow is hard and icy beware of cauliflower ice and granite (The groomed snow in the resorts might be nice but it can get ugly off the groomed stuff.they eat Leading edges and lines and bridles .Try not to drop your kite and beware of lulls and subsequent dropping of kite and then the floowing gusts smashes ya.
Over the years I have seen a few poor sods trip ruined by this (and a long hard trudge out) and last year a mate destroyed a brand new set of lines on a seemingly harmless granite snag.
