As I said in my previous email, the wife and I are heading up to Port Douglas starting on the 6th June.
After reading bits and pieces I am still unsure. Do I need a stinger suit at this time of year.
Do I need booties to kite "Four Mile", if so, what type is recommended.
Sorry about the ignorance, I am just a humble southerner that has never left town ![]()
No for the stinger suit, i believe they are only a summer thing (was there last year in september and none there, just wore boardies)
Booties, maybe, there are a few sharp bits of coral lying around but generally it is sand. I didn't wear any and got no cuts. Just be aware when walking out/in at low tide.
low tide is the best time to kite too, the spot is protected by a reff to the south, at low tide it is exposed and the riding area becomes butter flat... except for unbroken waves rolling around the end of the reef.. perfect ramps.
So going back up there this year ![]()
living and kiting port douglas (four mile) i havnt worn my stinger suit for about 2 months, and please leave the blue jersy at home you might find it hard to get some one to launch your kite...lol![]()
