Well, the line between pro-kiteboarding and soft porn just got blurrier. And while Angela's hooked-in backroll was nice enough, I came away somehow feeling violated, that my intelligence had been somehow insulted ...

... and then I heard a voice from somewhere else, soft at first, but persistently repeating, "We're more than girls in bikinis trying to look good on the beach." It was Bruna's voice, and in the interests of diversity, I'll post the vid from whence it came. Even though it was up recently, it deserves more prominence.

Bruna, you get my vote any day!

Angela's is the best kite video I have ever seen, if that's insulting my intelligence somehow, then insult away until your hearts content !!!

Shame about the dodgy accent though.....

If Bruna spent less time talking and more time prancing around semi-naked, women's kiting may actually get somewhere......

Some wise words spoken DJdjojo, that video was a load of crap.

Professional Kite Surfer! PFFFFFFTTTTTT This word is over done and over used.

This video shows plenty of skin but 'amateur' at best talent.

The action was embarrassingly poor and some skin shots is not going to sell your brand to me.

Come on North couple some actually riding talent with the rest of the package and you get my vote.

"professional kiter" is definitely a word that means absolutely nothing. In real sports the companies that you ride for turn you pro and "going pro" is actually a big deal. In kiting everyone just claims they are a pro, when really pretty much everyone would be considered an AM for the company they ride for in any other sport.
That first vid was rubbish. Wow, she's got a nice ass... so does a whole heap of other girls... hey guess what, you can even see chicks with no clothes on on the internets to nowdays... did anyone know that?

Bruna is rad. She can ride really well from what I have witnessed in real life and she is also one of the nicest girls you could meet and she can look good to. Womens kiting is only going to get somewhere when companies and girls take the sport seriously like Bruna, Karolina etc. Until then it's still going to be a joke (pretty much like the rest of the sport).

p.s. What about some more footage of Nina H? (now Nina J) Now that was a girl who could kite and look good! I'm pretty sure the reason she could do those awesome raleys was because she was so top heavy haha.

They only say that because they are afraid about their own sexuality to.

Totally agree Rowdy - so many want to be riders enter a few events and get a kite at stock price given to them and guess what 'Professional Kite Surfer' or even better 'International Professional Kite Surfer'

Self proclaimed pros are the fkn worst. I myself ride a sponsored board and have a shop helping me out with gear - does that make me a professional? Hell no! and I would feel a complete fraud to even entertain calling myself one.

It is almost a disrespect to the really talented riders that have worked hard to get to the level they are at.

So the question I ask is what constitutes a legitimate Professional Kite Surfer?

Realistically it would involve 2 things.
1: being paid money by that company to live and also pursue the sport. and
2: Having your own pro model out on said company's equipment.

Without these two things you aren't a pro and even with them I could see a shady line would develop in kiteboarding. At least this is how it works in other boardsports. You turn "pro" for a company, and it is shown by that company giving you your own pro model board or shoe or whatever it may be, which is decided by the company usually after you have riden for many years for them as an AM. At which point they usually have a big party to celebrate you turning Pro.

I cherish the era of the self- proclaimed proffessional and if any shops in perth wants to provide my gear for free I will hapilly pimp them to anyone despite being old and fat.

I won't do the cambered shots on the beach in hot pants tho, a man has to have some pride.
