Has anyone heard of any waterproof gizmos that can track and log your jump height, hangtime and distance? I know that a standard GPS can track your speed and I think they can also measure altitude. Has anyone looked into using their GPS to log altitude?
I'm sure you can do this from a specialized camera but if a company came up with a small device for a few hundred clams then I'd definately consider buying one.
Has anyone seen this footage? he wins!
Sorry I had to remove the Eric video aparently. Go to youtube and search for kitemare. you'll find it
Wow, what an aazing video. Was the guy ok!!!!!????
I can't believe I have never seen that before.
No idea about gps, but i recon he wins![]()
Unfortunately anything cheap would not be accurate enough for logging height.
There is about 1-2 metres margin of error with them and you have to zero it everytime. (they work on air pressure)
GPS is the same, about 1 metre margin of, OK for speed as it is a relative thing.
The most accurate altimeters are radar based and might be a little beyond normal peoples budget ![]()
I removed the Eric video.
Why is it banned?
Cheers for that hangtime watch, It looks like a great product.
What I'm after would be expensive, probably more around the $500 mark. You would have to incorporate a GPS with an Altitude meter and a stop watch. It would log your altitude every metre travelled. Then you can download 2 graphs from the gizmo. 1 would be height Vs Distance, and another would be Height Vs Time. You can then check out the graph when you get home to see your best height, distance and hangtime. This may work out cheaper than incorporating a 3 axes accelerometer like the Hangtimer does.
The video isnt banned, we like to think it is banned though. Its been posted about 1000000000000000000000000000000000 times on here.
But wise move removing the video, it could have caused several people to immediately throw themselves off a building.
