Hey Everyone, hopefully it's ok to post this here.
One of my best mates and all round good guy, is still in ICU over this past week from a very severe motorcycle accident .
You have probably bumped into him him at one of the SLingshot kite demos across Oz or shredding on a downwinder in the waves somewhere on the Goldie or seen him dragging in a massive tuna after kite foil fishing.
Matty was the kind of guy that would put everyone else's needs above his own and do absolutely anything to help out, all with the biggest most contagious smile on his face.
He has had multiple breaks on both his legs and one arm, took a hard hit to the head and suffered serious burns to a significant part of his body from when the tank cap came off and ignited the bike.
He is going to have a very long road ahead with medical costs and rehabilitation, so we have put together this fundraiser to try take some of the stress out of it for him when they wake him up from the coma.
I know it's hard times, but if you have anything to spare or can help by sharing this, it would be much appreciated.

Can he sue the tank cap manufacturers.
The rear brake design on motorcycles was changed after an incident I had where a nylock nut which was previously thought to be foolproof came undone.
I met him once at Merimbula. An absolute legend of a bloke. Great kiter. So much energy!!! Get well soon.
F**k, this is really sad news ![]()
I can only reiterate what's already been said above....absolute cracker of a bloke!!!!
Sounds like he has a very long road to recovery....get well soon Matty!!!!
Caty won't be the same without you at the wheel ![]()
This deserves another run, the skill and balls involved in what this guy does is incredible....

All the best for Matty, I hope he recovers soon and is reunited with his loved ones.
His videos of fishing a couple of kms off shore just give me so much anxiety. I'm only a season and a half in, and only really used to flat water. My time in the surf hasn't gone too smoothly so far. Massive kudos to Matty, he has serious balls.
All of us at Slingshot Australia have been very moved buy the out pouring of love and good wishes. The amazing people around Matt have been through hell in the last week or so. Any contribution to the go fund me page Josh has set up would be massively appreciated.
