Are there any thoughts on the Airush Razor construction which actually has dyneema strings stitched into the canopy? (Is this a new thing for 2017?)
Does it work in creating a more rigid structure?
Does it make it more/less prone to a catastrophic canopy explosion if it gets hit by a waves
and most importantly does it create more boost?

Airush talk up increased durability in the canopy in terms of bagging out.

Whether it actually does this or not, i don't know. The Airush Kites certainly feel very crisp in the air compared to some other kites.

No impact on boosting.

I don't know much about the newer Dyneema load frame on the 2017 kites.

But I know the Aramid frame they used on the 2013 kites is good. I still use a 2013 9 Wave, had it since Dec 2012. It has had about 40 sessions on it per year since.
The kite still works well considering the canopy is thin and very, very worn.

I'm going to replace it this year, with a new 9m Wave.

I have had a couple of sessions on a 12m 2017 Union and found it was a very nice kite to fly. Canopy was nice and taught. Jumps very well.

The tech isn't going to give you more height, but it'll help keep the kite in good condition for longer. Many other kite brands will always suffer some 'bagging' of the canopy over a short period of time. But the load frame Airush have produced for their kites make sense and from my past experience I can not knock it.

As reference I own a 2013 9 Wave, a 2015 7 Wave, 10(sold) & 14 2014 Varial X, both with the load frame tech. My GF flys the Diamond model.

We only fly what we like, if we think it's ****, we will not buy it.

My 9 has been ok after getting a few tumbles in waves in Cape Verde, back in 2013. No tears, nothing, happily relaunched and off I went. Maybe I was lucky, I dunno, but from my experience, they are pretty strong kites.

I have a 2015 Razor, pretty happy with the construction overall, I did have a tear in a wing strut bladder but other then that its be all good, who knows if the load frame makes a difference? The kite is very responsive and pretty sweet too, get huge amounts of slack when you pop hard and drops you hard.

I've had a 2012 12 mtr Varial, and still have a 2014 12mtr Lithium and a 2016 9mtr Lithium and a Varial X 6 mtr and at 100kgs + im pretty hard on them and never had more than a busted inflate valve.
I'll keep buying them from Airborne.
No affiliation.
Next kite will be a 9mtr wave
