In my old age to avoid staring at the wall I do a few kite repairs to occupy my time and although aware that it is problematic to pass down wisdom to the young I will attempt to do so to endeavor making your kite a Happy Kite.!
If not lucky enough to live on the beach we take the chance of a second kite left in the car which is a good safe practice.
Unfortunately science has proven that leaving the window open a fraction is pointless and 30 degrees will rise to 50 in a short time and your valves will likely be Unhappy.
To remedy this 3/4 fill a water bottle and freeze it. Then on departure nick a tea towel from er indoors wrap the bottle and place it in the rolled up L/E in your bag. Not only will your valves be Happy you get a Cool drink on finishing your session.
Now if you are blessed with the old fashioned dump valve, when you pull the stopper bung put your finger over the outlet to restrict the sudden air escape. I believe in time the rush of air unsettles the valve making it Unhappy and in need of replacement.
Best stop now as Moti will be sending his Minder to have a Word! That's if he can get past Matron !!!
Up here in the tropics, even pumping up the kite in full sun or on the sand is a huge risk, so anything like this is a bonus. Brilliant!
