That would be the 22kts on Sat, which will in reality be 22kts for a 10 min period then 12-15 for the remaining 90% of your sesh until you pack up then it will crank in and be as steady as.. er.. something very steady.. as you contemplate your cold wet navel.

Roll on summer!!

No it was ****.

Exactly as GF said... 20kts for about 3 minutes total, and about 14-15 the rest of the time. Still woke me up a bit before work so successful on that count.

Try again this arvo...

Yeah I started (like an Idiot) with my 9m core @10:30 till 12ish.
Then I changed it to 12m cult till about 4:00.
Wind speed was variable between 10-12 knots up to 22 and it was mostly directly West.
I had fun and I have been washed away like 20 times.
...
No regret, even if I knew what the condition was I would have gone for it again.
...
Mike said it once, noobs are getting happy with any session.

It's so disappointing watching the trees copping a hiding today, would so desperately love to be out in 30kt NW. Can't go after work either, social plans.

Tomorrow sunrise - here's hoping it doesn't die off at all between now and then.

Nah, woodies south beach is crap in a westerly. The wind comes in on a funny angle and causes a big whirlpool which swallows up everyones kites. The water also goes all choppy like and breaks your board. It's really crap. I'd never go there. Seriously. Also all the sharks go there when its westerly. And stingers. And crocodiles. Personally, i'd stay north of the river.

It was gusty but hey, the sun was out, and it was kinda peaceful and empty at Trigg, beaut winter's day, waves were big but not too big.... and my car didn't get broken into.

I don't think I've ever moved my trim that much and I've got a huge depower throw on my DNA!!

STILL: GreenPat, GetFunky, et al, IT'S BETTER THAN WORK INNIT??!!! [}:)]

don't think the twin tip is cutting it any more for me....

@ Leighton we were 4 kiters in total.
Me, a green Cab, a pink kite and one 7m rev.
I started from 10:30am and I gassed out @ about 2:30
While I was leaving I've seen another kiter coming.
And I've seen "Slack"
It was awesome, it had a bit of north in it and there were some big waves.
Our SS rev friend got busted in one of those big waves and one of his strut inflation tubes opened and he ended up with a leading edge full of water!

It was a sick day, I'll see you all tomorrow.
Now I gotta sleep

It was NUKING today! I was maxed on my 8M then tried a 7M which was on the limit as well. Sick session in very angry nature.

Chart looks stacked for the morning might have my corn flakes at the beach ;)

Ahh winter kiting aint it fun.
After having a 5 hour session yesterday on a 9mtr I was a bit sore and tired today. I was in no hurry but eventually headed out at my local just before 4pm, I took a 5.5 Dos and a 9 Kima down and my surfboard. It was up around 30 knots so the 5.5 it was, well within minutes it was around 40k but it was sweet with the little 5.5 next minute it was back to 20k and I was losing ground so I came in and pumped up the 9 Kima.
First run out it was nicely powered but within a couple of minutes it was gusty as and back up over 30, I was way overpowered being on the 6'2" surfboard but couldn't be bothered coming in to go back to the 5.5.
I still had fun but will be happy to see a steady consistant sea breeze when they finally get here.
Check out the Ocean reef graph from about 3.30 to 5.30, I couldn't have picked a worse time to head out, it had been pretty consistant all day.

I'm looking at the graph and its so scary, at 11:00am we will have 33 knots! and my smallest kite is my 9m "flying banana".
I'll be there but if it really hits above 30 it will be such a hard job to get out of disturbed waving area on a TT!

Maybe its better to hit the river as its about 5 knots less than the ocean!

Let me know whats the plan

No waves on the river and that water is cold! Lets try Leighton, the wind might not get up to +30kn until midday.

And guess what?!
It was +30.
Do you remember when you were justifying your self to buy that 9m kite;
*think bubble*
"I can kite surf in every condition now"

Fail

Hehheh! I bought this 6m and the wind stopped for about two months... and even when I was parting with my cash I was thinking "I hope this isn't going to be an expensive trainer kite"!!

Been having such a ball I don't know if I can use the 'big' kite again!
