Yes, the glory being the kite doing a horizontal 360.

Look carefully the trailing edge is pointing at the wind at one point in the move and he recovers from that .

Are you guys taking the piss your are you that completely uneducated you have no idea what this guy is doing?

It's a deadman turn where he drives the kite directly upwind and it completes a full 360 around him. There is a point where the kite is directly upwind and the rider is directly downwind.

This is a the worlds first filmed deadman turn on the water and it is freaken awesome.

Previously only a handful of landkiters have been able to do them on snow and or in kite buggies. I've done them in the buggy before and its a site to behold watching the kite go directly upwind and complete the loop.

Go and do one then video it and upload it. I can guarantee you have zero chance of pulling it off.

Difficult!!!!
Impossible for twin tippers like myself.

It doesn't look like the kite goes into the wind.

More likely the kite turns on the same spot. Doesn't take anything away from the trick.

Look at the white caps--must be at least 15 knots

Looks like the kites going "forward" -however it's an optical illusion cause by the foil rider shooting in the opposite direction.

hell of a trick , looks like tension on the lines keeps just enough pressure to keep canopy in the air

That's nuts.
If you look closely he defo does a full 360 turn. Maybe not that easy to see from this perspective. I'd love to see some drone footage from above while doing this. Must look epic.

but you can also do it easily in light wind just sine it hard and fast and as you bring it up wind spin like a shot putter with it. short lines help

Yeah, That's some crazy ship right there!
I had to watch it about 15 times to get my head around it.
I'm guessing he's using the momentum of his foil board to ride around his own kite. Keeping just enough pull on the lines to keep the kite in the air. He's actually pulling on his lines rather than having the kite pull him.
Wild Stuff.

I think anybody slagging this off, doesn't understand what they are seeing.

I don't have enough beach for that madness. Each loop you shoot downwind. I run out of beach after one loop.
